A Cyprus kitchen renovation should use an agreed, surveyed layout that connects cabinets, appliances, plumbing, electrical work and worktop fabrication before orders depend on it. Each supplier needs to know which dimensions and interfaces are confirmed. A visual render is useful for discussing appearance, but it does not establish that the selected equipment fits or that the services have been coordinated.
For a 2026 home project, organise the plan around the handovers between trades. This guide focuses on those dependencies rather than publishing kitchen prices or specifying technical installation work. The actual products and responsible professionals must determine the relevant requirements.
Establish a reliable drawing basis
Give the kitchen supplier any existing drawings and identify whether they have been verified. A previous sales plan may omit a projection, irregular wall or later alteration. Ask who will survey the room and which information the suppliers can rely on for ordering.
The survey should identify the openings and fixed features relevant to the intended layout. Keep uncertain or concealed conditions visible. A measured wall does not establish the route of a hidden service, so the layout may need information from another trade before it becomes final.
Record the agreed version and its status. A plan marked for discussion should not be treated as an order instruction. When a dimension changes, tell every party whose work depends on it rather than updating only the cabinet supplier’s copy.
Map the cabinet-to-appliance interfaces
Identify each selected appliance by its actual reference and obtain the relevant installation information. A product category such as integrated dishwasher does not establish its dimensions, panel arrangement or connection requirements. Keep the technical information connected to the layout.
Consider a hypothetical straight run 3.6 metres long. If an illustrative appliance opening occupies 0.6 metres and a tall unit occupies 0.6 metres, 2.4 metres remain arithmetically before fillers, end panels or other details. The calculation is not a fitted design or a recommended cabinet arrangement.
Ask the supplier to show how those additional details are handled. Door movement, handles and access to adjacent equipment can affect the layout even when the nominal widths add up. A full-size check or dimensioned detail is more useful than assuming an exact-width sum proves a workable installation.
Assign plumbing interfaces before fabrication
The plumbing trade should confirm the information needed for the sink, tap, dishwasher and any other water-connected item. Identify who provides the connections and which conditions must be established before cabinet installation or worktop measurement.
Maintenance access belongs in that discussion. A connection that can be installed but is difficult to reach later can create unnecessary disruption. Ask how valves and relevant components remain accessible under the accepted layout, using the actual equipment requirements.
Where the proposed arrangement depends on moving services, include that work explicitly in the scope. A cabinet quote can show a sink position without including the plumbing needed to serve it. Resolve that boundary before accepting the total as a complete kitchen price.
Coordinate electrical work with the selected equipment
Give the electrical professional the equipment references and operating requirements. Do not determine circuits or protective devices from a homeowner’s addition of advertised ratings. The professional needs to assess the actual installation and the proposed work.
Official Cyprus guidance describes registration, competency and annual registration requirements for the electrical professions it lists. Identify the person appointed to the relevant work and the evidence needed for that role. A kitchen sales appointment should not be assumed to establish those credentials.
Record the electrical tasks separately from appliance supply. Delivery of an oven or hob does not necessarily include connection, installation changes or commissioning evidence. Ask which party performs each task and how it fits the programme.
Follow the fabricator’s worktop sequence
Ask the fabricator when measurements or templating should take place and which conditions must be complete beforehand. The answer should come from the actual product and installation process. An early plan may support budgeting while still being unsuitable for final fabrication.
Confirm the information needed for cut-outs, joints and edges. Appliance or sink substitutions can affect those details. Obtain approval through the relevant supplier and installer before changing a product after fabrication information has been agreed.
Keep the fabrication record with the approved layout. If installed cabinets differ from the plan, the discrepancy needs resolution before dependent work proceeds. A worktop being ordered should not force another trade to accept an unverified condition.
Connect procurement status to dismantling decisions
Create a delivery record identifying ordered, confirmed and received items. These statuses are different. A catalogue listing or estimated delivery date does not establish that the item needed to restore cooking or washing is available.
In a hypothetical schedule with ten required items, seven have been received and three remain outstanding. That is 70 per cent by item count, not a statement that the kitchen is 70 per cent ready. A missing sink or connection component can be more consequential than several delivered decorative items.
Discuss the items that gate each work stage. Before dismantling usable equipment, identify the practical household arrangement and the consequences of a delayed dependency. The plan should explain what changes if a delivery is late rather than relying only on a hopeful completion date.
Make the temporary arrangement workable
Tell the contractor which rooms remain occupied and how you intend to cook and wash during the work. Temporary facilities need a suitable location and actual equipment arrangements. This guide does not suggest improvising electrical or plumbing connections to preserve normal routines.
Agree routes for deliveries, removed materials and waste. Ask who protects adjoining floors and furniture and who clears the area at handover. A kitchen can be finished while stored materials or dust still prevent ordinary use of the home.
Record access restrictions and who can approve an unexpected change. A homeowner away from Cyprus needs a usable decision process, with a person authorised for the relevant instructions. A key holder is not automatically responsible for every purchasing or scope decision.
Handover the completed interface record
At completion, keep the installed equipment references, relevant instructions and records supplied by the trades. The final layout should reflect accepted changes rather than remain the original concept. Identify outstanding items and who follows them up.
EU consumer guidance distinguishes protections for goods bought from professional sellers from additional commercial warranties. Keep the actual seller records and product terms separate from the fitting appointments. A general warranty statement should not be stretched to cover every trade’s work.
Ask for the demonstrations and checks relevant to the installed equipment. Returning the room to use involves more than accepting its appearance. The responsible professionals and suppliers should identify the conditions for operation and any restriction still in place.
Common questions
Can every supplier work from the rendered image?
A render communicates appearance but may omit measurements and technical interfaces. Ask what each supplier requires and provide the verified information through the approved drawing set.
Can a substitute appliance be accepted because it is the same width?
Check the full installation information and affected fabrication details. Nominal width alone does not establish compatibility.
Does receiving most items justify dismantling the old kitchen?
Review the critical missing dependencies and your temporary arrangements. The hypothetical item count is a tracking example, not permission to begin work.
